Hi and Welcome!

My name is Carol and I love making mosaic art! Hard to believe, but people have been breaking stuff and gluing it to other stuff for over 5,000 years! Here we are continuing that tradition in ways the ancients never could have imagined.
Why mosaics for me? Because nipping pieces and fitting them together to create art is both relaxing AND stimulating. I get so excited when talking about mosaics. I want to inspire and nurture your creativity with the same fire.
Why mosaics for you? There is such a liberating aspect of mosaics. (Especially when you go glove-free and the blood starts oozing from your fingertips. Please be careful!) Once you get the hang of things, it's your gig. No hard core creative talent required. You, yes even YOU with the "I can't do this" thought loop, can really, really do mosaics. If you were at a mosaic class and everyone was given the same basic design to create, no two mosaics would come out alike. Creativity and originality just naturally blossom when mosaic pieces are flying around. (Another important note - wear safety glasses!)
A little about me. I belong to the Society of American Mosaic Artists and am a member of Contemporary Mosaic Art. My career has been as a marketing entrepreneur for 30 years with a forever side gig of anything artsy/crafty. Upcycling and repurposing make my heart happy. Mosaics are my perfect fit.
I've caught the blog bug and want to share my mosaic passion with lots of people. My goal is to have real, let-hair-down, talk-with-friends type of posts that make you want to try this fun thing call mosaics. My DIY desire for you is that you will catch the joy you can find in taking broken pieces and putting them together in a new, more beautiful whole (without the bloody fingers).
